“Hygiene kits for most vulnerable locations as approved by Afghanistan wash cluster, cash for food, cash for winterization support
The main objective of the program was to address the immediate Humanitarian needs of the displaced population due to the recent developments in the country. The support is in the form of unconditional cash transfer or equivalent in addition to Hygiene Kits to the vulnerable people of Shortepa and Kaldar districts of Balkh province. Because those districts were also the most vulnerable and more affected by conflict, Covid 19 pandemic and drought during the year 2020, 2021 and still people facing with shortage of food and livelihood in some part of the Balkh province.
The cash for food, cash for winterization, and hygiene kits through Action aid’s Humanitarian Response for the Vulnerable People in Afghanistan – Balkh Province. These assistances have occurred because People living in poverty are disproportionately at risk of experiencing humanitarian crisis overall in Afghanistan since the fall of Afghanistan by the Taliban. Those living in extreme poverty. With reduced income capacity to manage and respond to shocks, are increasingly concentrated in countries like Afghanistan facing intersecting vulnerabilities, living in fragile states, and at high risk from the impacts of conflict, drought, and Covid-19 since 2019. therefore the project was designed to obtained the poverty gaps in the area by covering 185 households in two district of Balkh province “
