Project Overview
Oxfam-OHW under the covid-19 project of “Emergency food security assistance to food-insecure families in Achin & Momandara districts of Nangarhar province “conducted a needs assessment in more than 40 villages of both Achin &Momandara districts of Nangarhar province. Due to registration of project at ministry level and then to Directorate of ANDMA considering as line department, however, due to only 4 staff ANMDA apologize for support, participating in the needs assessment team as line department so we need to revise the project again from Ministry of Economy to revise the letter which takes time due to slow process at Ministry of economy which is usual practice at government departments.
Due to the above-mentioned reasons, we commence the beneficiaries’ household needs assessment and selection a bit later until all the documents are finalized and to have the permission of line departments and their presence in OXFAM-OHW teams on daily basis. A total of 1652 households assessed consist of 757 households in Achin & 895 households in the Momandara district of Nangarhar province.
OXFAM-OHW staff trained about COVID-19 protection, and awareness to 2135 households, and provides staff with personal protection equipment (PPEs) to ensure their safety in the field against the virus. OXFAM field staff closely support the OHW field staff, participated in needs assessment & Beneficiaries selection, conducted frequent field monitoring visits, and review overall needs assessment until now to make sure the transparency, accountability, and quality of assessment conducted. A total of 2135 households were provided with cash distribution out of 2143 households.
